Body of 32-year-old woman found in an isolated location in Kollam


Kollam: A dead body of a woman was recovered from an abandoned housing quarters of the Indian Railways near the Fatima Mata National college. It is at least six days old, police said.

The deceased has been identified as a 32-year-old Kottamkara native. The body was naked. The body of the victim had two deep wounds. Police believe she was murdered.

Two youths who were passing through the area informed the police about the foul smell. Dog squad and forensic experts inspected the location. Additionally, her bag and inner wear were found at the location.

A well near the building was searched, but it was not useful, police said.

The woman has been missing since December 29. Her mother approached Kundara police. It is learnt that she was last seen at the beach. She sells beauty products door-to-door.

East police have registered the case and started probe.
