Body exhumed after 1.5 years for autopsy
Kozhikode: Based on the petition by relatives, the body of Rinson (31), a native of Thadambattuthazham, which was buried one-and-a-half years ago, was exhumed and sent for autopsy on Tuesday morning. A petition submitted by the relatives alleged foul play behind the death of Rinson. The body was buried at the public cemetery in West Hill, Kozhikode.
Rinson died in April 2017. He was empoyed as supervisor at the Nelliampathi estate in the month of January. On April 8, Rinson’s father Jaleel (real name Vincent) received a call saying that his son was admitted at the Coimbatore Medical college following an illness. On the demand of Jaleel, Rinson, who was unconscious, was shifted to Kozhikode medical college. He had a wound on his leg with infection and pus. And on April 10, Rinson died. He was then buried according to Christian faith without conducting an autopsy.
The relatives allege that Rinson didn’t get expert treatment from the Coimbatore medical college and he faced negligence from the estate owner. A petition was filed in this regard to chief minister, IG and district collector a few months back. Based on the complaint, the body was recovered and sent to medical college for forensic examination.
