BJP to protect Christian community with new force
Kochi: In the wake of terrorist attacks in churches on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to form a protection force to ensure safety of Christian community. The political party aims to influence the minority groups of Christians with the new move.
The Christian protection force will be formed under BJP Minority Morcha.
In connection with this, the party will organise a special prayer meet on May 29 displaying photographs of the people who were killed in the serial blasts in Sri Lanka. A fasting will be observed on the same day.
BJP plans to organise more protests under the protection force. At present, state meet of BJP Minority Morcha is in progress in Kochi. BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai will attend the meet. The official declaration of the Christian protection force will be made after the meet.
The party expects the support of Christian groups in the new move. Activities of Christian Protection Force will be carried out as a move against global terrorism.
