BJP's vote share will double after I join the party: E Sreedharan
Malappuram: Metro man E Sreedharan claimed that BJP’s vote share in the upcoming Assembly election will double just because he joins the party.
“I assume that BJP’s vote share will double because I joined the party. More people will be attracted to BJP for this sole reason,” he said during an interview with Mathrubhumi News.
I have been a BJP supporter for a long time and have a close connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP is a political party that has honesty and ethics and that’s why I chose it, Sreedharan added.
When I was an employee, I was not supposed to be biased towards any party. Now I have completed all my duties. I took up the Palarivattom flyover work because I wanted to do something for my native place, he said.
I respect leaders like Oommen Chandy, Ramesh Chennithala and Pinarayi Vijayan. But they focus on uplifting their party and not on the development of the nation. But BJP has only one aim and that is developing the country, Sreedharan opined.
“I will have to contest the Assembly polls. I am willing to contest if the party asks me. I have given my suggestions for the election manifesto. No industry was initiated in Kerala in the last 20 years. Infrastructure useless for both the country and state are made in Kerala. The Silver Line project is part of this,” Sreedharan pointed out.
The flood was a human-made disaster and not a natural calamity. This government failed to find out the reason for the flood. The flood relief works are not complete yet, he said.
Sreedharan stated that the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) was a disastrous project. How long can we survive by borrowing? Every Keralite bears the burden of Rs 1.2 crore debt. All projects of KIIFB are unprofitable, he stated.
Many useful projects were completed in health sector in last one year, but nothing was done in education sector. Party workers are appointed in all sectors. Black money and smuggling are increasing here. But the government remain inactive, he alleged.
The government showed injustice in Sabarimala issue. They will have to face the consequences of this. BJP is not a communal party, but a patriotic one. Loving one’s nation is not fanaticism. BJP will get more votes than previous time, he added.
I did not receive any promises from the party. I would not accept Governor post even if they offered it to me. The constituency where I should contest will be decided after discussing with party leadership, Sreedharan stated.
