Kozhikode: A BJP leader here on Wednesday issued a death threat to the Nadakkavu CI Jijeesh in response to the latter's alleged attack on a Yuva Morcha worker.

A purported clip of the incident has surfaced. "If he (CI) was not in uniform, obviously his dead body would have been floating within hours," BJP Kozhikode district secretary Raneesh T can be heard saying.

Raneesh, who is also a ward councilor from Puthiyara, was addressing the workers during a protest march against the alleged attack on a Yuva Morcha worker who came for waving a black flag at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The alleged attack happened while the party worker was taken into preventive detention.

“If this is how Pinarayi's police (police under CM) are planning to deal with our workers, then it is an issue that can be solved by one or two of our workers, who are ready to go to jail for six months,” he said.

The BJP leader also said that the CI’s hand will be chopped off.

The BJP workers conducted a march to the Commissioner's office seeking action against the official concerned.

According to the latest reports, Raneesh has been booked over the remarks made.
