Thiruvananthapuram: Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Gopi, who unsuccessfully contested both assembly and parliament election on BJP ticket in Kerala, said that he does not want to become the president of BJP Kerala unit. The actor-turned politician earlier too has pinpointed that his interest is in working along with commoners to fulfil their needs.
Reiterating his stand, Suresh Gopi said that a party leader should be a person who can judge the attitude of individuals who may come to the party in the near future. Only an experienced person should take up such roles, he said. Suresh Gopi said that a movie actor won’t be a right choice for the post.
Meanwhile, he made it clear that even if BJP leaders like K Surendran and V Muraleedharan ask him to become chief of the party, he will not accept that suggestion. He pinpointed that Amit Shah and Narendra Modi do not expect him in the role of chief.
“There are many people who are emerging in politics. One such person should take up the role of the chief," he said.
