BJP claims Cochin Carnival's Pappanji resembles Narendra Modi, files police complaint

Kochi: The BJP has fielded protests claiming that the face of the Pappanji constructed for the Cochin Carnival resembles that of prime minister Narendra Modi.

Talking to Mathrubhumi.com, BJP Ernakulam district president KS Shaiju said the face and attire of the Pappanji resembled Modi and that it was an attempt to insult the prime minister of the country. Shaiju added that this had been done to disrupt the Cochin Carnival.

The BJP leader said following the BJP protest the organisers informed that the appearance of the Pappanji would be changed. The BJP district leadership has filed a complaint with the police regarding the matter.

The Pappanji is a model of an old man with a suit and a beard, which will be burned at midnight on December 31.
