Alappuzha: The Kerala High Court has directed all courts in the state to implement biometric punching system immediately. The HC observed that all those who get salary under SPARK (Service and Payroll Administrative Repository for Kerala) are liable to do punching.
The decision to implement punching in all government offices from October was postponed. However, the HC has decided to go ahead with the biometric punching system in all courts.
As the Aadhaar number also has to be linked with the system, the high court has advised all judges to arrange facilities accordingly.
Keltron will set up punching machines in all courts. There are 14 districts courts, 80 additional district courts, 54 sub courts and 127 judicial magistrate courts adding up to 456 courts in the state.
