Kozhikode: Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, stated that he knows very well Muhammed Anoop, who was arrested in connection with a drug case in Bengaluru. He added that he is also shocked to know about the news on Anoop.
Bineesh was responding to the allegations raised by Youth League state general secretary P K Firoz that Bineesh had close connections with drug smuggling gang including Anoop who were arrested in Bengaluru.
"I got acquainted with Anoop when he was running T-shirt business. Later, he switched to restaurant business. Many including me had lent money in that phase. However, he faced loss from business. It was Anoop who used to book room while travelling to Bengaluru. I know him in that way only and I don't know about his drug dealings," Bineesh said.
"It is a lie that I own a hotel in Bengaluru. Earlier, there were rumours that a building in Thiruvananthapuram was mine. But they came to know that it was mosque after the construction was complete. P K Firoz can raise any allegation. I sometimes call Anoop. I don't remember if I had called him on the day Swapna Suresh was arrested. I'm willing to give call details if NIA wants," he added.
Bineesh Kodiyeri further said that he would not file defamation case against anyone. Since allegations are coming every day, I'm not interested in filing any defamation case and go after it, he stated.
