Police beef up patroling to curb speeding bikes

Changanassery: Following the tragic death of three people in a bike accident in Changanassery, the police beefed up patrols. They enhanced checking of the ‘new generation’ bikes from Thursday morning.

A bike that was speeding at 150 kmph collided with another in Changanassery, which led to the death of three. Police are planning to check the visuals from the camera used by one of the bikers. Puthuppally native Sarath (18), Sethunath Natesan (41) and Puzhavathu native Murukan Achary (67) were killed in the accident on Wednesday.

Transport minister Antony Raju informed the Assembly that he has sought a report from the Enforcement RTO on the accident.

The traffic enforcement department has also increased patrol on highways. RTO Tojo M Thomas said that one can call 9188961005 if bike races or stunts are seen.
