Thiruvananthapuram: In the fresh allegations raised by hotel owner Biju Ramesh in the bar bribery case, the hotelier alleged that gold smuggling accused Swapna Suresh had called him asking liquor for the officials of UAE Consulate. He was reacting to questions from media on whether Swapna had called him.
“Swapna Suresh and I have phoned each other. But this was not relating to gold smuggling. She contacted me seeking liquor bottles for the officials in Embassy. I called her back after confirming the availability. Then I again called her to inform of the rates. Later, as instructed by Swapna, the PRO came and bought liquor paying the money,” Biju said.
Biju said that he is distantly related to Swapna, but have no relation to former Vigilance SP Sukeshan.
Swapna had again called me to inform of her father’s death and later for liquor as part of her father’s funeral, Biju further added.
