Thiruvananthapuram: Hotelier Biju Ramesh has raised serious allegations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala in connection with the bar bribery scam.
Biju alleged that the probe into the bar bribery scam ended after former Finance Minister KM Mani met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at his residence.
Biju also said that Chennithala and his wife requested not to reveal his name in the statement. That is why I did not mention his name in the confidential statement.
"But when the probe went forward, I didn’t get justice. All politicians are the same. CPM and Congress are trying to reach a consensus in the case. I have no trust in the Vigilance probe announced now. Central agencies should probe the case,” he demanded.
“Pinarayi Vijayan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, who had earlier supported me, changed their stance later. I had revealed the names of many political leaders and many facts including how Jose K Mani tried to influence me, before the Vigilance. But they told me they have no authority to probe those. But I stand firm on my statement and have evidence to prove the same,” he added.
CPM should not see me as a trump card to play any time. I have no responsibility to take the probe forward, let the government do it. I will cooperate with the probe, he further said.
