Malappuram: A Bihar native was arrested by the Vengara police for allegedly killing her husband. Sanjith Paswan (33) of Bihar’s Vaishali district was allegedly strangled to death by his wife, Poonam Devi (30), on January 31 at PK quarters on the Vengara-Kottakkal road.

According to the police, injuries were found on Sanjith’s forehead and face during the examination. Officials stated that the cause of his death was a fracture to the neck bone due to strangulation. Poonam was questioned as the police became suspicious, following which the crime came to light, officials added.

Poonam, Sanjith and their five-year-old daughter came to Vengara two months ago. She reportedly tied Sanjith’s hands and strangled him while he was asleep. She then untied the knot and informed the people living next door that he was ill.
