Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that some people and organisations were trying to violate the law and order in the state and create chaos. He added that strict action will be taken against them.

The CM was addressing a press meet held after the COVID review meeting here on Monday.

The attempt to block Higher Education Minister K T Jaleel by parking a car across the national highway in Parippally in Kollam was such an act. When the minister’s driver reduced speed, Yuva Morcha workers jumped in front of the car. Two persons are arrested in connection with the incident. They can protest, but parking a vehicle across the road can result in accidents, the Chief Minister said.

A similar incident was reported in Kollam itself. Continuous attacks had been taking place against MLA Kovoor Kunjumon. It is not a protest, but an indecent act. Youth Congress choose vulgar ways to protest. The MLA’s vehicle was blocked when he was returning from Mynagappally. He is being attacked for mentioning about Congress-BJP link in the Assembly, the CM added. Congress should make it clear what democratic procedure was this.

Police have been directed to take strict action. The government will proceed with legal action, the CM stated.
