Thiruvananthapuram: The BevQ app for online liquor sale will be functional from Wednesday onwards. People can book liquor using the app from Wednesday and those who get the token can buy liquor from Thursday.
As the app was approved by Google, it will be uploaded in Playstore by Tuesday afternoon. Those who use ordinary phones should use SMS for booking. The government is holding discussions with telecom companies for this purpose. This also will be finalised soon.
More details in this regard will be informed by excise minister T P Ramakrishnan at a press meet on Tuesday afternoon. Google informed that they granted approval for the BevQ app on Tuesday morning only.

They can reach the shop on the basis of this information to purchase liquor. The QR code in the e-ticket will be scanned at the liquor shop.
There are also certain conditions for purchasing liquor. One user can buy maximum 3 litres of liquor. Also liquor will be sold to a user only once in four days. The sales will continue strictly following the COVID safety protocol.
