Kochi: The government has decided to shut the beverages outlets and bars across the state amid the second wave of COVID-19. With this, the Beverages Corporation (BevCo) has been considering home delivery of liquor. BevCo CMD Yogesh Gupta has informed that a final decision on the matter will be taken within 10 days.
The BevCo have to ensure clarity on logistics and payment of home delivery service. The corporation hopes that the government will grant permission for it.
Last year, a facility through the BevQ app was established for making a virtual queue facility in beverages outlets. Now, Faircode technologies have approached BevCo seeking permission to relaunch BevQ.
It is learnt that home delivery is a better option than the virtual queue. The BevCo has been mulling to carry out home delivery in collaboration with online food delivery service providers.
