Thiruvananthapuram: Bevco outlets in the state will have a walk-in facility that could end the practice of having large queues in front of liquor shops. The facility will be made available in the new 68 bevco outlets in the state.
The Walk-in facility will be implemented on an experimental basis in 47 bevco outlets soon. Adequate facilities will also be set up for customers to purchase premium/foreign liquor brands.
However, the majority of Bevco outlets function in congested spaces. The regional managers are tasked to find adequate space for setting up these facilities. Further, authorities have failed to set up parking spaces and other basic facilities for 163 bevco outlets, as per the direction of the High Court.
