Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) has gotten the nod from the government to open new beverage outlets across the state, including the ones that were closed down during the UDF government due to their liquor policy. The current decision has been taken based on the new liquor policy.

BEVCO had sought permission to open 75 outlets including the ones that were closed down. It is learned that 68 outlets have been approved out of these.

To reduce the rush in Foreign Liquor Fl1 shops, premium outlets will be opened. BEVCO has been instructed to start looking for ideal locations. The closed outlets can be reopened in the same location or in the next taluk. The list of shops to be reopened has also been transferred to the Beverages Corporation.
