Bengaluru drug case: Bineesh Kodiyeri let off after interrogation; likely to be summoned again
Bengaluru: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) let off Bineesh Kodiyeri after interrogating him for six hours in connection with the Bengaluru drug case.
Interrogation started at the ED office in Shanti Nagar in Bengaluru on Tuesday by 11 in the morning. Bineesh reached the office by 10.45 am and was taken to the chamber of Assistant Director Somasekhara, where he is being quizzed.
Bineesh Kodiyeri, who came out of the ED office around 5 pm, felt uneasy. He sat down on the resting area for a few minutes and drank water. Later, Bineesh Kodiyeri got into his car and left the spot.
It is learned that the interrogation has not been completed and that Bineesh Kodiyeri would be summoned again.
The ED is questioning Bineesh mainly about the source of the money received by Anoop Muhammed who is accused in the Bengaluru drug case. ED had found that about Rs 30 lakh was transferred to Anoop's account through 20 other accounts. ED is investigating the source of this amount. They will also check if this amount was used for narcotic business.
The investigation into the Bengaluru drug case reached Bineesh Kodiyeri on the basis of the statements of Anoop. He said that Bineesh gave him financial assistance as a friend, which Bineesh also admitted.
Meanwhile, ED started inquiring about the financial deals of Anoop. They questioned him at the Parappana Agrahara prison. Bineesh was summoned soon after this.
