Mananthavady: The forest department officials informed that the tiger which triggered panic among Kurukkanmoola natives for 20 days in Wayanad has been spotted as hiding in the Begur forest range. DFO claimed that the tiger will be trapped soon.

The officers have tracked the footprints of the tiger at Begur and examined that the tiger entered into this forest range.

Earlier, the same investigation team had reported that they had a close encounter with the tiger but failed to catch it using a tranquillizer gun.

The search will continue in Begur on Sunday by splitting the team into groups. As the tiger had not attacked the domestic animals in the region for the last two days, the tiger is expected to stray into the human settlements on Saturday night. Hence, the officers have alerted the locals to take precautions such as making a campfire near the cattle shed. The officials have decided to strengthen the patrolling on Saturday night.
