Beetle attack primary reason for fuel leakages in petrol vehicles, says MVD survey

Kannur: Majority of respondents to an online survey of Kerala Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) said that beetles' attack was the primary reason behind fuel leakages in petrol cars.

Further, the survey results also claimed that short circuits are the primary reason for fire accidents in mobile vehicles.

Responses were collected from 153 vehicle owners affected by fire accidents or fuel leakages. Of this, 11 people had their vehicles gutted by fire, and 133 suffered fuel leakage. Interestingly, 102 out of 133 respondents claimed fuel leakage was due to beetles attack.
