Thiruvananthapuram: When the BJP is about to launch assembly election campaign, Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) is set to claim 39 seats. Though they are willing to exchange seats, they are unlikely to compromise for reducing the number of seats.

Party chairman Thushar Vellappally will inform this in a discussion with BJP general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh to be held on Monday. BDJS had contested in 37 seats in the 2016 assembly polls.

BJP will start election campaign ahead of assembly polls by the end of January. This was decided in a discussion held by BJP state president K Surendran with national leaders. BDJS which is the ally of NDA also will discuss seat sharing with the leaders.

BDJS is likely to demand action for strengthening the political front. BDJS performed very poorly in the recent local body election held in Kerala.
