Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary MV Govindan on Monday said that banning an organisation like SDPI could not do the trick of eliminating terrorist activities. He added that a ban could only strengthen communalism and favour the RSS agenda of flaring communalism.
His remark came while attending the closing ceremony of the CITU district conference in Kattakada. Earlier, there were reports that the central government plans to ban Popular Front of India(PFI) and SDPI in the country in the wake of NIA raids revealing unlawful terrorist activities.
He remarked that groups spreading majority and minority communalism are attacking the state government.
