Thiruvananthapuram: A doctor who treated violinist Balabhasakar soon after the road accident has revealed that he was conscious when brought to the hospital. Dr Faisal who was on duty at the casualty of Thiruvananthapuram medical college on the day of the accident made the revelation.
"Balabhaskar and wife Lakshmi who sustained injuries in the accident were brought to the hospital together. Balabhaskar said he was sleeping in the car and was thrown out under the impact of the accident. He said his hands were feeling numb and also inquired about his wife's condition. After 10 minutes, their relatives reached the hospital and shifted them to a private hospital," Dr Faisal, who currently works in a private clinic in Mannanthala, remembered the incident.
The Innova car, in which Balabhaskar and family were travelling, met with the accident on September 24, 2018. Balabhaskar died at a hospital on October 2 while his two-year-old daughter Thejaswini Bala died on the spot. Balabhaskar’s wife and driver were critically injured in the accident. Though the doctor's revelation came after too long, it is critical in the investigation. Currently, the case is being probed by the CBI.
