Palakkad: The district authority has clamped prohibitory orders in Palakkad following the murder of an SDPI activist and an RSS activist. The prohibitory orders will be in place till April 20, Wednesday.
With this, five or more people will not be allowed to assemble in public places in the district. Meetings and demonstrations are also prohibited.
The district authority also ordered that any person shall not be found carrying weapons in public places.
“Carrying weapons is prohibited under section 4 of The Arms Act. It is illegal to possess explosives in public places as per section 4 of the explosives act 1884. No one should spread rumours as triggering unwanted incidents,” reads the order.
Meanwhile, the prohibitory orders will not affect essential services and maintenance of law and order.
Palakkad district witnessed two murders within 24 hours. RSS leader Sreenivasan was hacked to death here hours after the murder of SDPI activist Subair. The state is on high alert following the alleged political murders. DGP has directed the northern districts and police force to step up vigil as observing the chances of violence in the coming days.
