Autopsy report of Maoists out; Crime Branch to probe Attappadi encounter
Thrissur: Crime branch will probe the case relating to the encounter between police and Maoists in Attappadi which resulted in the death of four ultras. Malappuram Crime Branch SP has been entrusted with the probe. An order was issued in this regard by DGP.
Meanwhile, the autopsy report of the Maoists killed in the encounter was released. It said that the death of four occurred due to gun shots. Three bullets were found in the body of Maoist leader Manivasakam's body – one from head and two from body parts. The report also said that the gun shots were fired from a distance.
In the meantime, Manivasakam’s wife Kala moved High Court demanding to see the body of the Maoist leader. The petition was submitted at the Madras High Court Madurai Division Bench.
In the petition she said that even though she is in jail, she has the right to see her husband’s body. She also demanded to instruct Kerala Police not to take any further action before she sees the body.
