Kozhikode: Police confirmed the death of a man inside a shop in Vadakara on Saturday night as murder. The preliminary autopsy report noted that Vadakara native Rajan was strangled to death. Police have intensified search for the suspect.

The other shopkeepers in the nearby stores stated that they had seen a person wearing a blue shirt along with Rajan. Police have obtained a few CCTV visuals which substantiate the statements given by the shopkeepers. However, the suspect’s face is not clear in the visuals.

Meanwhile, investigation is also progressing over Rajan’s phone calls and friends who are alcoholic.

Rajan’s family found him dead when they reached the shop in search of him as he did not return home even late at night. The jewellery worn by Rajan and money kept in the shop were missing. Hence, police suspect attempt of robbery might have ended up in murder.
