Kochi: An autorickshaw driver who took an accident victim to a hospital died in another accident the same day. Jomol and Thambi died in different accidents in Thrippunithura on Saturday.
The first accident took place at 6.45 am in the mini bypass near Gandhi square. A Thrissur registration car collided with a tipper lorry that came the opposite way. Jomol and her sister Sanjo were in the car at the time of the mishap.
The people who were involved in the rescue operation stated that the woman was motionless when they took her out of the vehicle. She was taken to the Lakeshore hospital in Kochi immediately in Thambis’s autorickshaw.
However, while coming back from the hospital Thambi lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a wall near Maradu Palace Junction. He was a Thrippunithura native.
Sanjo who was also involved in the accident is severely injured and undergoing treatment.
