Kottayam: The nuns belonging to Kuravilangad convent, who were transferred recently, have written to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan alleging that attempts are ongoing to sabotage the case against Bishop Franco Mulakkal who has been accused of rape by another nun. They also said that the Bishop is very powerful and can sabotage the case.
There are efforts to pressurise us by transferring, said the nuns in the letter demanding the CM to urgently intervene in the matter.
“There were frequent threats against us as we would give witness statement against the bishop in the case. The transfer was part of efforts to intimidate us,” the letter said further requesting the CM to allow them to continue at the Kuravilangad convent itself.
No money is being given by the church even for daily expenses. Lack of money is burdening treatment and travel, they said in the letter adding that they had only helped the complainant nun.
