Chalakudy: Late actor Kalabhavan Mani's brother RLV Ramakrishnan gave statement to the police that he attempted suicide as he was denied chance for performing Mohiniyattam. The police have not charged any case in connection with the incident. However, he has not yet revealed the names of anyone related to the issue.

Chalakudy DySP C R Santhosh Kumar and SHO K S Sandeep said that there is no need to charge case for falling unconscious after consuming overdose of sleeping pills. They added that further action will be taken only after investigation.

Ramakrishnan is undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Karukutty. Though he is stable, he is unable to talk much. RLV Ramakrishnan was found in an unconscious state at Kalagriham dance school on Saturday by 7.30 pm. Sometimes, he stays in the dance school, which is close to his house.

One of his family friends Satheesh Babu found him lying on the floor. As he did not respond even after giving first aid, he took him to the nearby hospital with the help of a friend. Police also arrived at the place on knowing about the incident.
