Thiruvananthapuram: The forest department has recommended to suspend forest conservator N T Sajan who faced allegations in connection with the tree felling case. The department’s recommendation on the basis of the report of the Principal Forest Conservator, has been handed over to the chief secretary.
The forest department recommended to suspend N T Sajan on the basis of the findings that he tried to sabotage the inquiry into tree felling case and to trap the officials. The chief minister should take final decision on this matter. It is learnt that the government order will soon be issued.
N T Sajan’s name surfaced when Muttil tree felling case made headlines. However, the forest department took the stand that action can be initiated only after completing the probe. Later, the probe carried out by the forest department also found him guilty.
It was found out that Sajan tried to trap range officer Shameer and others in the case. Following this, the department recommended to suspend him.
