Mannarkkad: The Court issued notices to the 16 suspects involved in the Madhu murder case by directing them to appear before Court on February 10. They have to arrive at the district special court by 10 am. The procedure to appoint a special prosecutor is also progressing fast. The court had ordered to speed up the case and inform about the progress weekly as the case was pending for four years without conducting a single trial.
On Saturday, the Director General of prosecution will examine the four names suggested for special prosecutor and assistant prosecutor to finalise the appointments soon.
The legal advisor appointed by Mammootty said that the family of Madhu will approach the district collector to register a complaint and request the Chief Minister for CBI probe if no progress has been made in the case within a week.
The hearing scheduled on January 25 was postponed to March 26 due to the absence of special prosecutor.
