At Sabarimala, ‘Arulmozhi Varman’ says ‘Azhwarkadiyan Nambi’ is his ‘Guru Swamy’

Sabarimala: Tamil movie star Jayam Ravi and Malayalam actor Jayaram visited Sabarimala Ayyappa temple on Saturday to witness the ‘Makara Jyothi’ (holy light) on the auspicious Makar Sankanti day.

Ravi described Jayaram as ‘Guru Swamy’ (senior pilgrim). "I always come with Guru Swamy Jayaram sir and Sasi Swamy to witness the Makara Jyothi,” he said.

Reacting to this, Jayaram said jokingly that though Ravi considers him Guru Swamy, he has not given a single rupee as ‘dakshina’. Both actors and their friends burst into laughter at Jayaram's comment.

Jayam Ravi and Jayaram shared screen in the film 'Ponniyin Selvan I', directed by Maniratnam. While Jayam Ravi played the lead role, Arulmozhi Varman, Jayaram played his close aide Azhwarkadiyan Nambi.
