Malappuram: At least 30 students were injured after the school bus they were travelling overturned here on Friday afternoon. The affected students are from Darul Huda School at Pattarkkulam in Manjeri here.
The incident happened as one school bus hit the backside of another bus when the vehicles were moving downhill from the school to the main road. One school bus lost its break and control and hit on the back of another school bus that was preceding. It caused the other bus to overturn.
The onlookers including, teachers and locals rushed to the spot and rescued the children. Around 30 students, those studying in LKG were injured. Most of them had only minor injuries and left hospitals after taking treatment. However, the driver was severely injured and two children had a head injuries. They were rushed to a hospital in Perinthalmanna.
Police visited the spot and MVD has begun a probe over the matter to ascertain the factors that led to the accident.
