Chandramani
Neyyattinkara: At the age of 67, Chandramani not only attended Plus One equivalency examination, but also published a collection of poetry.
Neyyattinkara municipality published the homemaker’s poetry collection ‘Ente Swarna Mandara Poo’, which comprises 15 poems based on her own experiences in life. Chandramani wrote the poems in the same period she prepared for the Plus One examination.
Perumbazhuthoor native Chandramani had stopped going to school when she failed tenth standard. Soon she was married off and became a mother of three children. However, she did not refuse to attend the classes of literacy mission, when the Saksharatha Prerak Saleela approached her. She passed the tenth level equivalency examination last year.
Chandramani had shown her poems to her teachers while attending her Plus One classes. It was them who urged her to publish the poems.
Her family consists of her husband Sudarshanan, children Shaju S Chandra and Shine S Chandra. Now, Chandramani aims to write more poems and also acquire Plus Two equivalency.
