Assets of IS people to be seized
Kasaragod: The state government authorities will initiate action to seize the assets of people who have joined IS from the state. The action is based on the order of the Kochi NIA court to seize assets of individuals who have left the country to join terror-linked groups.
The revenue department started actions to seize the assets of Abdul Rashid, a native of Padanna, one of the people who joined IS from Kerala. The department pasted a poster at his home in Kasaragod.
The Trikkaripur village officer started the proceedings of revenue recovery following the court order. The court also ordered Rashid to appear before it on August 13. 21 people, including Rashid, are suspected to have reached the IS camp in Afghanistan from Kasargod and Palakkad.
