Thiruvananthapuram: A team from the Election Commission of India (ECI) will reach Kerala on January 21 for a three-day visit ahead of the assembly polls. The visit of the officials aims to decide on the date of the assembly polls and review the arrangements.
ECI will depute a three-member team led by deputy commissioner Sudeep Jain to Kerala for this purpose.
They will hold talks with various officials from enforcement sections who are appointed as nodal officers for the polls.
State chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena will inform the team about the arrangements carried out for the polls so far.
The team will visit Kannur on January 22 and hold a meeting with district collector, district police chief and representatives of political parties.
The ECI team will also carry out an inspection of the arrangements in Alappuzha on January 23.
