Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Assembly faced a turbulent session on Friday with the ruling front defending MM Mani's "widow" remark against KK Rema MLA. Opposition leader VD Satheesan said that MM Mani should withdraw his statement and apologise for his remark.
The opposition displayed cards and held a protest during the question hour demanding an apology. Satheesan said that TP Chandrasekharan, stained Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) and husband of KK Rema, was murdered by the party court. He added that Mani made a misogynist remark in the assembly and should apologise for it.
Meanwhile, speaker M B Rajesh clarified that Mani only denied role of CPM and LDF in the murder of the RMP leader. Later, the opposition staged a walk-out after the ruling front refused to withdraw the statement or apologise.
