KSRTC assault case: Officials hands over concession card to Reshma

Thiruvananthapuram: A girl, who watched her father getting thrashed by KSRTC staff of Kattakada depot, received justice on Wednesday after officials approached her house to issue the renewed concession card.

Reshma, a college student, was refused concession card when she approached KSRTC depot to renew it. However, her father Premanandan was assaulted by KSRTC staff after he questioned this decision.

The staff argued that she needed to submit a course certificate to renew the card. Later, the verbal spat between turned ugly after they assaulted him.

The incident was brought to public attention after a video of the assault surfaced on social media. Premanandan also filed a complaint before the police, leading to the suspension and arrest of the accused. Meanwhile, the court will hear the anticipatory bail plea of the accused on Thursday.
