Alappuzha: An eight-member gang attacked a house in Ayodhya Nagar, Ambalappuzha on Sunday evening, resulting in injuries to four women, including a pregnant lady.

The attackers used sticks and wooden planks to assault the women, following a brawl that had broken out between the assailants and the relatives of the women during a temple festival earlier. The gang had come to Ayodhya Nagar seeking revenge.

Despite the attempts of the locals to stop them, the attackers continued their assault on the women. The police were called to the spot, but the attackers even hurled abuses at the women in their presence.

Three suspects- Ajith, Bilal, and Rahul have been taken into custody by the police following the incident. The injured women have been admitted to TD Medical College in Vandanam for treatment.
