The ASI was returning home after duty when his car hit the minister’s vehicle. The ASI’s car then hit an autorickshaw also.

Adimali: An ASI was suspended after his car rammed Electricity Minister M. M. Mani’s car and did not stop.

The suspended officer was identified as Assistant Sub Inspector Sajeev Mathew. He was suspended by the Idukki district police chief based on a report filed by the Vellathooval station house officer.

The accident took place at Shalyampara on Sunday. The ASI was returning home after duty when his car hit the minister’s vehicle. The ASI’s car then hit an autorickshaw also.

As there was an allegation that the ASI was drunk at the time of the accident, the Vellathooval police had reached Sajeev’s house but the ASI could not be found. Subsequently, the Vellathooval police filed the report.
