Arya Rajendran and K Muraleedharan MP
Thiruvananthapuram: MP K Muraleedharan has apologised over the controversial remark about Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran. Muraleedharan said he regrets if the mayor was emotionally hurt over his remark. Earlier, he had said that the mayor looks beautiful in her appearance but her speech and behaviour is substandard in nature. Upon this remark, the mayor had filed a complaint with the Museum police against the MP.
The MP then clarified that what he meant in his speech was that the mayor was behaving immaturely. Many of the Congress councillors had complained to him about the immature behaviour of the mayor. Muraleedharan added that he is regretting the comment but criticism of the mayor's actions would continue as she continues making mistakes.
During his controversial speech, he had also said that the corporation had seen many like Arya even before. Many CPM leaders have come up with the response that he had used a sexist comment against the mayor.
