Arjun was in driver’s seat, Crime Branch discloses crucial evidence in Balabhaskar’s death
Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch has got a crucial evidence in the death of violinist Balabhaskar who was killed in a road accident last year. The forensic examination confirmed that Arjun, Balabhaskar’s driver was driving the car when the accident took place.
Forensic test results reported that Arjun suffered head injury as he was sitting in the driver’s seat. Balabhaskar was sitting in the middle of the back seat. His wife Lekshmi was the only passenger in the car who wore seat belt, reported the forensic examination results.
Following this, the probe team has decided to book Arjun under culpable homicide charges. It is also found that the car was overspeeding when the accident took place.
The accident happened on September 25 on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram. Balabhaskar's daughter was brought dead to the hospital. He succumbed to injuries on October 2.
His wife Lekshmi and driver Arjun survived. Balabhaskar's father CK Unni had filed a complaint with DGP seeking a detailed probe into his son's death.
Suspicions arose after Arjun said the car was being driven by the musician at the time of the accident.
But when the police approached Lekshmi for her statement, she said that her husband was not driving. But witnesses reported that Balabhaskar was driving the car. In order to clear the confusion, the probe team decided to carry out forensic examination.
The forensic report confirmed that Arjun was driving the car. Arjun suffered injury on head and spine. Usually, person who drives the car suffer such injuries during an accident.
It is assumed that Balabhaskar suffered severe injury as he hadn't worn seat belt. After examining the forensic report, Crime Branch examined that there is nothing to suspect in the accident.
