BJP state committee member recommended to Kerala Governor’s personal staff

Arif Mohammad Khan - Hari S Kartha

Thiruvananthapuram: At a time when both ruling faction and Opposition allege that Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan is working for BJP, a file from his official residence Raj Bhavan has reached the secretariat in connection with the appointment of a BJP State Committee member to his personal staff.

The file recommends the appointment of Hari S Kartha, a BJP State Committee member and a media person, as the Governor’s additional personal assistant. Notably, Kartha was the chief of the party's media wing when Kummanam Rajasekharan was its state president. Also, he has been working in the media industry for over 30 years. He served as chief editor of Janmabhoomi (mouthpiece of BJP Kerala) and senior executive editor of Amrita TV. He has also worked with Economic Times, Financial Express, Gulf News and Reuters.

Meanwhile, the appointment needs the state government’s approval. The file reportedly has reached the secretariat.
