Thiruvananthapuram: An argument over a marriage invitation escalated into a violent conflict leaving several injured here on Saturday. According to reports, several people including the bride's aged father also injured amid the ruckus.

The incident took place around 9 pm at St. Sebastian Auditorium in Balaramapuram.

Reportedly, a Vizhinjam native entered the auditorium during the wedding reception of an Uchakkada native’s daughter. The argument between them turned violent after a group of youth from Balaramapuram RC Street intervened in the matter.

Following this, an elderly man, a native of Uchakkada sustained an injury on his head. He was rushed to Govt. Medical College hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

“A similar incident also occurred in the area two months back,” said the natives.

Balaramapuram police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.
