Loknath Behera in Monson's museum

Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch recorded the statement of former DGP and current MD of Kochi Metro Loknath Behera in connection with the case related to antique fraudster Monson Mavunkal. The Crime Branch sought explanation from Behera about installing beat box in Monson’s residence and visiting his museum.

They also interrogated Traffic IG Lakshman who has close contact with Monson. As the Crime Branch has to submit the probe report regarding this case in the high court on Tuesday, they sought explanation from the former DGP.

The high court had demanded to explain on what circumstances Monson Mavunkal was provided police protection. Police Patta book (beat book) was placed in front of Monson’s residence after Behera visited his museum. This had led to a huge controversy, following which his statement was recorded.

IG Lakshman was questioned as the documents proving his contact with Monson came to light. Crime Branch SP came from Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram to interrogate him in detail.
