Ansi Kabeer, Anjana Shajan, Accident scene
Kochi: Police has recorded the arrest of Saiju Thankachan in the death of the models in Kochi. Saiju had chased the former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabeer, runner-up Anjana Shajan, in an Audi car, after which they met with the accident. According to police, Saiju followed the women with ill motives. He is booked under the charges of instigating an accident.
Saiju had followed the models from the No 18 hotel in Fort Kochi. When quizzed by the police initially, he said he wanted to warn the models as their driver was drunk.
Saiju was absconding for some period and sought anticipatory bail. However, he was summoned today along with his lawyer. The crime branch officials arrested him after detailed questioning. Notably, the person is also booked under charges for cheating in another case.
Abdul Rahman, the driver of the models' car, is presently out of the hospital. The police have arrested him under charges of 'involuntary manslaughter'.
