Malampuzha: Just days after Babu’s rescue mission, another man goes trekking to Cheradu Koormbachi hills. A resident and coconut tree climber Radhakrishnan (45) is the one who got stranded on the hills. He was brought down after an extensive search led by the police and Fire and Rescue Services by around 12.30 am.
The locals informed the matter to the police after seeing light on top of the hill on Sunday night. The light became visible near the top of the hill by around 8 pm. It was following this that the police, fire and rescue services and forest officers arrived at the scene and conducted search. Radhakrishnan was shifted to the district hospital for medical inspection after being brought down.
Locals voiced their protest over the incident. They claimed that Radhakrishnan was not alone and there could have been people with expertise in mountain climbing who accompanied him and that is evident from the multiple lights seen on top of the hill. They also raised the suspicion that the men who were on top of the hill might have escaped or hidden themselves when they saw that people were coming up. The locals said that strict action must be taken against such trespassers.
