Annoyed, Justice Arun Mishra dismisses plea seeking deadline extension of Maradu flats eviction
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thurday said that it cannot extend the deadline for eviction of Maradu apartment complexes even by an hour. Justice Arun Mishra was responding on the subject after dismissing the petition filed by the flat owners seeking an extension.
He also added that the court has been extremely patient on the matter and that it cannot wait any longer. Justice Mishra had taken a tough stance on the matter even at the initial stages of the case. The petition was filed by Advocate Mathew Nedumbara.
“It has already been made clear that the court will not listen to any writ petitions on the case. You have to leave. We have been extremely patient. Not anymore. You don’t know what happened in this case,” Justice Arun Mishra responded.
He also hinted at large scale intervention taking place in the case. Although senior lawyer Lilly Thomas asked the court to advise the flat owners on how to proceed, the court did not oblige.
