Thiruvananthapuram: Senior CPM leader and LDF convenor EP Jayarajan has referred to his ‘push’ reaction against the Youth Congress workers inside the flight as an act of defence. He even said that the airline company should thank him for the intervention, as it apparently averted a scene.
The purported video of the protest shows that the two protestors were forcefully pushed by Jayarajan.
The remarks downplaying the act comes at a time when the protestors are slapped with charges for attempt to murder, obstructing a public servant, criminal conspiracy and aggravated assault that threatens the safety of an aircraft.
While addressing the media he also raised allegations against UDF. According to Jayarajan, UDF lead by VD Satheesan and K Sudhakaran orchestrated the ‘attack’ in the flight. “UDF eyed to trigger a shootout scene,” he said.
Reacting to his earlier statement that the protestors were in an inebriated state, medical examination conducted on them showed that they were not drunk. Countering this, he, however, asked if not getting drunk is a major concern. “Anyone who has seen their behavious will conclude they are drunk,” he said.
